Amidst the chaos of 1960s Tokyo, two orphans searching for family forge deep connections, inspiring those they meet to rediscover love and belonging, as they all grapple with the painful realities of change.

Wildheart is a universal tale set against a critical time of social upheaval in Japanese history and lived through the lives of three generations. Our central characters' obstacles are as relevant to today’s audiences as they were to the times. We encounter the trials of biological family, found family, and friendship, all impacted by separation and social and economic adversity.

about

Welcome to Wildheart, our animated film project focusing on childhood, family, and friendship. The universal themes we explore are crafted to resonate with international viewers, bridging cultural gaps and inviting a global audience to connect with our story.

Anime and Retro Nostalgia

Wildheart draws inspiration from the intricate designs and narrative techniques characteristic of Japanese cinema and anime, embedding these influences into our core creative vision.

The increasing global interest in Japanese culture positions, a Showa Era-inspired project as a timely venture. It allows us to tap into the curiosity and enthusiasm of audiences worldwide, offering them an original glimpse into Japan's past that resonates on a universal level.

Director's Note

" Set during Japan's 1960s cultural renaissance, Wildheart seeks to fill a unique niche. The film is rooted in meticulous cultural research and subtle, nuanced acting, drawing inspiration from the cinematic legacy of Yasujiro Ozu and Hirokazu Kore-eda. It bridges cultural divides through storytelling, combining the best of East and West. Against a backdrop rich in history and cultural significance, the story resonates on a personal level, drawing from our own lives.

Wildheart reflects on the lives of children whose childhoods were impacted by tumultuous times. It explores universal themes designed to resonate with international viewers, bridging cultural gaps and inviting a global audience to connect with our story. "
